Encouragement from Pittsburgh
I want to encourage everyone to just do the f’ing thing! As I sit here looking out the window at the vast sea of cars parked in long term parking from our hotel window I couldn’t help thinking how grateful I am. If I were to let all the fears and worries take control of my life, this very moment would not be happening. What we are doing this weekend may not be what everyone would call exceptional, but to me as a parent to my 16 year old daughter it most certainly is. While she is in dance classes at the chosen venue her dance studio selected, I get to have time to reflect on where my life is currently at and I am truly blessed. Blessed with a generous life partner, a beautiful daughter and nothing but opportunity in front of me for myself and my family. Five years ago my life looked completely different. I was in a corporate job I hated but put on a smile because that is just what you do…at least that is what I was conditioned to believe.
Like many others, 2020 was definitely a life changing year. I was experiencing the ‘dark night of the soul’ part of my journey, only I didn’t know what that was until recently. I was tired of making excuses and living the fake life that looked great on the outside but I was dying inside. I began digging deep into healing my past so I could truly live in peace, joy and authentic happiness. What I have discovered since then truly puts me into the strongest sense of gratitude that I have ever known.
Gratitude is a feeling more than a word, the word is simply something that is tangible, something to hold on to to describe the feeling that lives inside my body with the strongest sense. I am encouraging and inviting you to take a minute and really sink into your body, put your hand on your heart, close your eyes and take a deep breath. In your minds eye, picture the person, place or thing that lights you up, the one thing that lights your soul and hold on to that vision. Take another deep breath in and connect to how you feel in your body when you think of the most perfect moment with this person, place or thing and hold onto it, savor it.
This feeling is gratitude.
When I say just do the f’ing thing, it's me encouraging you to find a way to move through the fear and do it anyway. If you know exactly what I am talking about and need to talk through the how, I am inviting you to reach out..I’d be happy to be that person in your life that holds your hand through the sticky mud… I assure you that what’s on the other side is well worth it!
The best way to reach me is by DM on any of my socials, email or WhatsApp.
I look forward to connecting with you 💜
